For the boater

  2. A floating key fob. Boat keys that float are the ones you get back off the dock.
  3. A dry bag. Phones, wallets and a dry shirt ride in the bottom of the boat.
  4. A floating strap for sunglasses. For the ones that would otherwise end up on the bottom of a cove.
  5. New dock lines. Ask what size their boat takes, or check the old ones on the cleat. Fresh lines are easy to put off buying.

For the one who moved away

  3. Coffee from near the lake. Look for a roaster in one of the lake towns. It gets used up, so it never clutters a shelf.
  4. A framed photo of their old dock or cove. Ask the family for one from a summer they still talk about.

What the design shows

The outline keeps the lake's serpentine shape from Bagnell Dam on up, with the Osage and Niangua arms. It starts from USGS shoreline data and is smoothed in Ringgold, Georgia, just outside Chattanooga so it reads clearly at print size. It's art, not a map, so please don't navigate by it.

Questions people ask

What is a good Lake of the Ozarks gift for a boater?

Things that live on the boat and get lost or worn out: a floating key fob, a dry bag, a floating strap for sunglasses, new dock lines in their boat's size, and can coolers. Our Lake of the Ozarks can cooler is $12.99, or $8.74 each when you get 4 or more.

Why is Lake of the Ozarks called the Missouri Dragon?

Its long, winding shape earned it the nickname. Bagnell Dam on the Osage River created the lake between 1929 and 1931, and the water filled the river valleys into a serpentine outline with about 1,150 miles of shoreline. Local names like the Magic Dragon Street Meet come from it.

Does the Lake of the Ozarks design include the Osage and Niangua arms?

Yes. The outline keeps the lake's serpentine shape from Bagnell Dam on up, with the Osage and Niangua arms, drawn from USGS shoreline data and smoothed so it reads clearly in print. The same drawing is on every Lake of the Ozarks piece. It's art, not a navigation map.

Can I put our names or a year on a Lake of the Ozarks gift?

Yes. Ornaments take a family name and year free, right on the product page. For anything else, ask for a free mockup at lakeswag.com/pages/suggest-a-lake with the product and the words, like the year you bought the place. We email it within 24 hours, and nothing is made until you approve it.

How long does a Lake of the Ozarks order take?

Most pieces are made in 2 to 5 business days after you order, and posters take 3 to 8. They arrive 3 to 7 business days after they ship. Those are our print partners' estimates, not guarantees, and November and December can add time.
