About Norris Lake
Norris Lake is TVA’s first reservoir, reaching 73 miles up the Clinch River and 56 miles up the Powell River from Norris Dam in east Tennessee. The dam was built from 1933 to 1936 and named for Senator George Norris, who wrote the law that created TVA. TVA lists 809 miles of shoreline and 33,840 acres of water. Boating, water skiing, swimming and fishing are popular, and Loyston Point has a mountain bike trail system. Our design stays true to the real shoreline, both river arms included.
