About Lake Hartwell
Lake Hartwell, officially Hartwell Lake, is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reservoir on the Georgia-South Carolina line, formed by Hartwell Dam on the Savannah River 7 miles below where the Tugaloo and Seneca rivers meet. The Corps built it between 1955 and 1963. It covers nearly 56,000 acres with 962 miles of shoreline across six counties, and its parks, marinas and campgrounds make it one of the most visited Corps lakes in the nation. Our designs are finished by hand from its real shoreline, Tugaloo and Seneca arms included.
