• Your name on it, free. Add your words, a family name and the year, like The Smith Family · 2026, and they run around the bottom of the ring. Leave it blank and it says Wisconsin. We email you a picture to check first. Changes are free, and nothing is engraved until you approve it.
• The lake. The real shoreline of the Eagle River Chain: Eagle, Catfish, Cranberry, Voyageur, Scattering Rice, Otter, Lynx and Duck, the heart of what locals call the world's largest chain of freshwater lakes, laser engraved in frosted white. If your family counts the chain differently, or wants Yellow Birch, Watersmeet or the Three Lakes side on it too, tell us and we draw it your way.
• The ornament. Clear crystal glass, 3 in across, with a faceted edge that catches the tree lights. It comes with a red ribbon, ready to hang.

Know someone with a cabin on the Eagle River Chain? Derby weekend in January, a summer of pontoon runs from lake to lake, the grandparents who have had the place since the boathouse was new. It's the one that comes out of the box every December.

The Eagle River Chain is in Vilas County, Wisconsin, around the city of Eagle River. The Eagle River side has nine lakes, among them Catfish, Voyageur, Eagle, Scattering Rice, Otter, Lynx, Duck, Yellow Birch and Watersmeet, with about 3,928 acres of water and 68 miles of shoreline. The Otter Rapids dam at the end of Watersmeet Lake creates and deepens the chain. Boats cross to the Three Lakes Chain in Oneida County at the Burnt Rollways boat hoist, in service since 1911, and locals call the 28 connected lakes the world’s largest chain of freshwater lakes. Eagle River also hosts the World Championship Snowmobile Derby every January.
