About Sebago Lake

Sebago Lake is in Cumberland County, Maine, bordered by Casco, Naples, Raymond, Sebago, Standish and Windham, with Frye Island in the water off Raymond. It is about 12 miles long with 105 miles of shoreline, and more than 300 feet deep, the deepest lake in Maine. It is also the state’s second-largest lake and the main water source for the Portland Water District, which serves nearly one in six Mainers. Sebago Lake State Park opened in 1938, and the landlocked salmon’s scientific name, Salmo salar sebago, comes from the lake.
