About Pine Flat Lake
Pine Flat Lake is in Fresno County, in the Sierra Nevada foothills, about 30 miles east of Fresno, near Piedra. It formed behind Pine Flat Dam on the Kings River, which the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers finished in 1954; the Corps' Sacramento District still runs it. The lake stretches about 20 miles, with 67 miles of shoreline, and recreation areas such as Deer Creek Marina, Island Park and Kirch Flat sit along it.
