About Pickwick Lake
Pickwick Lake is the TVA reservoir behind Pickwick Landing Dam in southwest Tennessee. From the dam it runs 53 miles south along the Mississippi-Alabama state line, then east into Alabama up to Wilson Dam. TVA built the dam from 1934 to 1938, and the lake covered the Alabama towns of Waterloo and Riverton. The Wilson Dam tailwater is noted for record-size smallmouth bass and catfish, and boating and water skiing are popular.
