About Mullett Lake
Mullett Lake is in Cheboygan County in northern Michigan. It covers about 16,630 acres, runs 10 miles long and 4 wide, and reaches 148 feet at its deepest. It is named for surveyor John Mullett, who worked on the 1840 to 1843 state survey. Indian River sits near the south end, where water arrives from Burt Lake, Topinabee and the Mullett Lake community line the north shore, and Aloha, with its 172-acre state park, is on the east shore. The Cheboygan River leaves from the northeast end. The lake is part of the 38-mile Inland Waterway, a boat route to Lake Huron that became a state historic site in 1957.
