About Lake Superior
Lake Superior is the northernmost, westernmost and highest of the Great Lakes. Minnesota lies to the west, Wisconsin and Michigan to the south, and the Canadian province of Ontario to the north and east. By EPA figures it has the largest water area of the five, 31,700 square miles, and a maximum depth of 1,332 feet. The EPA notes it has seen less development and pollution than the other Great Lakes.
