About Lake Oconee
Lake Oconee is a Georgia Power reservoir in central Georgia, about 77 miles southeast of Atlanta, near Greensboro and Eatonton. Wallace Dam on the Oconee River has held it since 1979, and the Oconee and Apalachee rivers feed it. Georgia’s Environmental Protection Division lists 19,058 acres and 376 miles of shoreline across Morgan, Greene and Putnam counties. Anglers know it for spring crappie and a growing catfish fishery. Our design stays true to the real shoreline, with both river arms and the Richland and Sugar creek arms.
