About Lake Martin
Lake Martin is an Alabama Power reservoir on the Tallapoosa River, spread across Tallapoosa, Elmore and Coosa counties near Alexander City and Dadeville. Martin Dam went into service at the end of 1926, and Alabama Power says it created the world’s largest artificial body of water at the time. Today the lake is known for swimming, boating, water skiing, camping and island stops like Goat Island. Our Lake Martin designs are drawn from the lake’s real shoreline and finished by hand, Kowaliga arm and all.
