About Lake Guntersville
Lake Guntersville, as locals call Guntersville Lake, is the TVA reservoir on the Tennessee River in northeast Alabama, stretching 76 miles upriver from Guntersville Dam into Tennessee. TVA built the dam between 1935 and 1939. The lake has almost 890 miles of shoreline and 67,900 acres of water, and it is known for fishing: crappie usually make up over half the catch, and bass and bluegill are caught in large numbers too. Our hand-finished designs keep its real shoreline, from the creek arms around Guntersville up the river past Scottsboro.
