About Carlyle Lake
Carlyle Lake is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reservoir on the Kaskaskia River, mostly in Clinton County, Illinois, with smaller parts in Bond and Fayette counties. The Corps finished the project in 1967, and at 26,000 acres of water it is Illinois’s largest man-made lake. Sailing, water skiing, boating, fishing and swimming draw people to its shores, and Eldon Hazlet State Park sits beside the lake. Our Carlyle Lake designs are hand-finished from its real shoreline, including the west-shore creek arms and the islands near the north end.
